AUGUST 16-17 AT THE VISUAL ARTS COLLECTIVE
MOTHER is a tapestry of performance art that weaves together the all-encompassing experiences of motherhood, womanhood, girlhood, and what it means to be feminine at heart. The word “mother” alone calls forth a wide array of feelings, judgments, and expectations. This show explores that through spoken word, dance, song, and comedy in two acts. MOTHER is coming… what does MOTHER mean to you? We invite you to explore that with us and go on a modern heroine’s journey through the beauty and horror of being a woman.
MOTHER is a variety show dreamed up and schemed up by a number of local artists, mothers, sisters, wives, witches, and queer icons. Produced by local legend Anne McDonald – of Frankly Frankie’s Burlesque – and local clown Krystal Moore – of Moore Productions. This show has been lovingly handcrafted with the collaboration of a community of artists. We are all excited to share it with our local community at the Visual Arts Collective!
